FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT

GranMa 2011

Oct 3-6, 2011

The Conference GranMa 2011, in the framework of the ANR project Grandes Matrices Aleatoires will be held in Institut Henri Poincaré, Paris, from Monday, Oct 3, to Thursday, Oct 6, 2011. The conference's aim is to bring together researchers working in all fields of mathematics and theoretical physics related to random matrices.

In the past few years, random matrices have seen many new developments, and became related to many other areas of mathematics and physics, in particular to growth models or to enumerative geometry. Below is a non-exhaustive list of topics covered by this conference.

Topics:

  • large size asymptotics of random matrix eigenvalues, bulk universality, universality near edges and critical points, large deviations, Tracy-Widom laws and other Painleve type.
  • applications to combinatorics, statistical physics models, laplacian growth, ...
  • Integrable systems, orthogonal polynomials, Riemann-Hilbert problem, ...
  • large N expansions, topological recursion, applications to enumerative geometry, Gromov-Witten invariants, ...
  • quantum groups.
  • non-hermitian matrices, beta ensembles.

ORGANIZING COMMITTEE:

B. Eynard (IPhT Saclay), P. Zinn-Justin (CNRS Universite Paris 6)
